New Comics & Graphic Novels Database!

Underground and Independent Comics - a new resource from the Library.




Underground and Independent Comics includes more than 100,000 pages of materials, 75,000 pages of primary materials (the comics themselves), and more than 25,000 pages of materials about comics—interviews, commentary, theory, and criticism—from The Comics Journal and other secondary sources.


Browse and search by character, genre, people, publisher, series and titles.

Beyond the Panel: Chicago Women in Comics, Wed, Sept 29th, 6-8pm












Join the Columbia College Chicago Comics Club and the Library as three of Chicago's finest comic creators come together to share and discuss their work in the comic arts.

The panel will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 6:00-8:00pm in the Columbia College Chicago Library, 624 S. Michigan Ave., 3rd Floor North. This panel is free and open to the public.

C. Spike Trotman, cartoonist of the web comic,
Templar, AZ; Jill Thompson whose work ranges from the acclaimed adult series, The Sandman to the children's comic, Magic Trixie; and renaissance woman Audrey Niffenegger, creator of the new graphic novel, The Night Bookmobile. There will be an opportunity to purchase books by the artists at the end of the presentation.
