We've got your textbooks* @ the Library

All required textbooks *over $40 are purchased and placed on reserve in the Columbia College Chicago Library.

Reserve books are available for short-term check-out at the first floor Circulation Desk. They may be used in the library only. We ask that you return reserve items to the desk as soon as you have completed your assignment. An OASIS ID is required for check-out.

Sign Up for Constitution Day Read-out

Do you like to read out loud? Do you LOVE the United States Constitution?

Help Columbia College Chicago proclaim Constitution Day 2010. Sign up to be part of at the XIVth Amendment Read-out.

What: Reading the XIVth Amendment and excerpts of landmark decisions based on it.
When: The Read-out will take place on September 17, between 11am and 2pm.
Where: Conaway Center, 1104 S. Wabash Ave.

How: Readers will read for 10 minutes each. To sign up for a time slot, contact Riva Feshbach, Outreach Librarian at rfeshbach@colum.edu or call 312-369-3295.

Why: Why is Columbia College Chicago holding a Constitution Day Read-out? It is required by law that educational organizations receiving federal funding must celebrate Constitution Day.

Jan Chindlund, 2010 Rose Vormelker Award Recipient

Jan Chindlund, library director of Columbia College Chicago, is the 2010 recipient of the SLA Rose L. Vormelker Award. Chindlund was honored for mentoring, inspiring, and guiding information professionals through her work at Columbia College Chicago, McDonald’s Corporation, and the Special Library Association’s (SLA) Illinois Chapter and the SLA Business & Finance (B&F) Division.

The Vormelker Award is presented to an SLA member for exceptional service to the profession through education and mentoring of students and working professionals. The SLA Awards Committee cited Chindlund’s dedication to mentoring and inspiring SLA members, as well as her volunteer work at all levels of the association during more than 23 years of membership.
